Creating the Robot City High collection was an exciting challenge that demanded a balance of creativity and precision. My process relies on a unique workflow, starting with monochromatic sketches in Clip Studio Paint and transforming them into vibrant, polished designs in CorelDRAW. Here’s how it all comes together!

Step 1: Sketching in Cyan

Every design begins in Clip Studio Paint, where I sketch entirely in shades of cyan. Why cyan? Keeping the artwork monochromatic helps me focus on structure, form, and detail without getting sidetracked by colors.

This phase is all about laying the foundation—ensuring the characters’ poses, shapes, and details are just right. Using cyan also keeps my workspace clean and organized, making it easier to refine and finalize the sketches later on.

Step 2: Adding Life and Color in CorelDRAW

Once the sketches are ready, I move them into CorelDRAW, where the real transformation begins. Here, I bring the designs to life by layering in bold, vibrant colors and fine-tuning every detail.

From the metallic shine of robotic limbs to the dynamic, eye-popping tones of their clothing, this stage is all about creating energy and personality in every piece. CorelDRAW’s precision tools allow me to sharpen lines, add gradients, and ensure the final assets are scalable and versatile for the generative process.

This workflow also makes it easy to mix and match components like hairstyles, accessories, and clothing across the collection, ensuring variety and uniqueness in every PFP.

Why Cyan First, Color Second?

By starting with a monochromatic palette in Clip Studio Paint, I can perfect the structure and form of each design without distractions. Transitioning to CorelDRAW lets me focus entirely on color, texture, and finishing touches, ensuring every asset is as dynamic and polished as possible.

This combination of raster and vector tools gives me the creative freedom to experiment while delivering high-quality results that stand out in the NFT space.
